E-mails that are sent out in huge amounts – spamming – is a growing problem among users of e-mail throughout the word. Hours are spent every day to delete and find unwanted e-mail.
Domenia Norge AS has therefore introduced spam filters. These are filters that analyze all e-mails that are received by our servers. The senders’ e-mail servers are checked up with updates lists with a list of e-mail servers that are blacklisted for spamming. In this way the amount of spam mail to our customers are reduced with a large amount.
The lists that show e-mail servers that are blacklisted for spam are updated at all times. If one of your contacts sends an email from a server that is blacklisted at the moment, the sender will receive an e-mail saying that their e-mail server is blocked. This can be caused by security holes on the e-mail server which the e-mail is being sent from. As this can be seen as a safety threat we have chosen to secure our customers from e-mails from these servers.
NEWS: Now you may temporarily whitelist an e-mail server. As a sender often is not aware that their supplier have servers that can be used for spam, we give you the opportunity to temporarily whitelist (accept) an ip-address. I.e: you may receive e-mail from a blacklisted e-mail server for 24 hours. If the sender wants to be guaranteed to get through to e-mail users with a spam filter after this, he/she must contact their supplier of e-mail services, telling them that they are blacklisted, so that they may block the security hole on their e-mail servers.
How to whitelist an ip-address:
- If someone sends you an e-mail from a blacklisted server that you cannot receive, the sender will receive a mail from us informing them that they are blacklisted, with information on which ip-address is blacklisted.
- Click the link in this e-mail
- Fill in the number- and letters shown in the window above the whitelist button.
- Press whitelist
Now you may send an e-mail from this address to other users of Domenia’s e-mail services. But remember – it is only temporarily and the supplier of the sender’s e-mail services must make changes not to be blacklisted again.
